Please make sure to book the Initial Acupuncture session if this is your first visit with us or if it's been over 1 year since you're last visit! Acupuncture is a holistic medicine that began about 3,500 years ago in China. Acupuncture is the use of small needles to free and aid one's qi, often translated as energy or life force. This method of healing doesn't just treat disease, it treats the person, combining the physical with the emotional or spiritual, or internal, being. Chinese medicine strives to heal with the idea that the mind is richly integrated with the body, that both must be attended to. The best results can be achieved from acupuncture when it is practiced regularly. Rather than a quick fix, it should be viewed as a lifestyle change, like eating healthy, or regular exercise.

Naturopathic Medicine is a system of healthcare that utilizes natural therapies to treat disease and promote wellness. This alternative form of medicine is built on the following fundamental principles: prevention, first do no harm, the healing power of nature, treat the cause, treat the whole person, and doctor as teacher. The body has an innate ability to heal itself and this ability is enhanced once the obstacles to cure are removed and the supportive therapies are added. By finding the root cause of the illness rather than masking the symptoms with drugs, we can achieve complete healing.

I am an experienced Functional Medicine Practitioner with a Master’s degree in Human Clinical Nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health, along with professional certifications from Trinity School of Natural Health (CNHP) and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN-P). My journey into the world of holistic healing began with my own decade-long struggle with chronic illness. Over ten years, I saw countless MDs and specialists who couldn’t explain the “mystery illness” I was experiencing, but they had no problem prescribing medications to mask the symptoms.

By 2019, after years of navigating the conventional medical system, I found myself more chronically ill than when I started and dependent on numerous prescription medications I was told I would need for life. That was when I decided to advocate for myself and reclaim my health. Against the advice of my doctors, family, and friends, I began working with several holistic practitioners who opened my eyes to the world of natural healing.

Working with people who actually listened and believed what I was saying was a completely different experience. For the first time in a long time, I felt seen and heard by a team of health professionals. With their guidance, I was able to reconnect with my intuition, discover the root causes of my chronic illness, and completely heal myself through nutrition, targeted supplementation, and somatic therapy. Within a year, I had lost 70 pounds, become medication-free, and, best of all, discovered my life purpose: teaching others how to self-heal.

Dr. Nikki is originally from the Midwest but came to California for chiropractic school and ended up loving it! She received her education from Life Chiropractic College West and graduated in 2021. She enjoys spending her free time hiking with my dog Brutus, playing sports, surfing, and relaxing with friends. She has a passion for helping animals and became a certified animal chiropractor in September 2022. She proceeded to open her own animal chiropractic business in April of 2023 called Happy Tails Animal Chiropractic.

Her approach to chiropractic is to look at the body as a whole. She finds it very important to not only address the joints within the body, but also the muscles and other tissues surrounding those joints. Along with spinal adjustments, she also adjusts extremities when necessary. In addition to adjustments and soft tissue work, she provides corrective exercises to reduce the risk of re-injury because she believe it’s important for you to be in control of your own health.
